Besides the creation of an educational programme and the educational and promotional video, a lecture tour directed at the wide public was a part of the third bilateral cooperation with the Norwegian partner, Stiftelsen Arkivet.
The first part of this tour took place in late February and early March 2017 in Norway. Two lectures were given in the auditorium of the Stiftelsen Arkivet, further two in the municipal library in Arendal and the last in the National Library in Oslo. The lecturers gave one of the lectures to the students of a secondary school in Kristiansand, Tangen.
A logical structure was chosen for the lectures. Gro Kvanvig and Mirjam Kristensen from Stiftelsen Arkivet outlined the Norwegian context of confiscation of books as property of the enemy. Subsequently, the project video was presented. In the second part, Tomáš Foltýn and Marcela Strouhalová introduced the activities of the National Library of the Czech Republic, the basic objectives and outputs of the project itself and finally, the results of almost two years of historical research were presented.
It turned out that, in many aspects, the topic is interesting to Norwegian public. Many of the questions concerned the books originally belonging to the Norwegian Masonic Lodge, D. N. St. Landsloges, which have been catalogued during the project.
Outside the project, the Stiftelsen Arkivet has dedicated an independent exhibition to this issue, running since 28 February 2017 in the library of this institution. Books from the National Library of the Czech Republic and the Jewish Museum in Prague have been lent for this exhibition. Until the end of 2017, the exhibition will allow visitors to watch the original virtual exhibition and the promotional video and to try out the educational programme, all using touchscreens.
In April, the tour will move to the Czech Republic (information will be provided).
