National Library of the Czech Republic and Stiftelsen Arkivet researches have arranged as part of the promotional activities related to the project “Books Discovered Once Again” many lectures at various libraries, culture heritage institutions, high schools or universities. During these open talks all the project activities and results were described including the process of book management, archival research and the ground of provenance signs. The audience was always interested especially in the formal holders´ microstories and in the provenance signs surveys.
So gained experience has shown to the project researchers that is crucial to speak about the ways of the culture heritage artefacts handling during 1930´ and 1950´and to open these questions to the wider public and to educate the young generation having very poor knowledge about this topic. To spread knowledge more efficiently using as much illustrative way as it is possible, propagation video and educational program were prepared in the past BFB initiatives.
At the beginning of April 2017 second lecture tour, this time in Czech Republic, was organized. This tour follows freely to the outputs obtained during the Norwegian tour. The researchers from National Library of the Czech Republic and Mrs. Gro Kvanvig from the Stiftelsen Arkivet foundation visited five educational institutions : Institute of Information Studies and Librarianship of the Charles University in Prague, Silesian University in Opava, Grammar School in Maticni Ostrava, Faculty of Arts of the University Pardubice and finally the Higher School of Information Sciences and Librarianship in Prague. The lectures open many topics for discussion – especially on the presentation of the culture heritage and the possible cooperation among memory institutions, schools, students and teachers. The feedback of the students were very inspiring for the comparison of the educational programs using in Czech and Norwegian educational systems.
